The Explorers of the Albion Police Exploring Post are constantly on the go serving
their community and school district.  The subsequent is a short list of some of the
events we provide our services at.  We serve in the capacity of event supervisors,
"security", and crowd control at these events.  In addition, we assist with parking and
traffic control if needed.
* Basically any large community/school event! *
Both critical and educational; Explorers receive instruction and training on several law
enforcement tactics and procedures in addition to safety training.
Explorers have received, or will receive instruction and training on several topics, some listed below:
  • Explorer safety and roles/responsibilities of the Explorer.
  • Crime prevention.
  • Criminal law.
  • Crime scene search/ and preservation.
  • Crisis intervention.
  • Drugs and alcohol.
  • Firearms recognition and safety.  Range and FATS experiences.
  • History of law enforcement and department.
  • Patrol procedures.
  • Traffic and crowd control.
  • Note taking and report writing.
  • First aid and CPR.  CPR certification.
  • Ethics and jurisdictional responsibilities.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Vehicle and traffic stops, routine and felony.
Explorers also hold monthly business and brass meetings.  We also hold at least one
fund raiser yearly in order to raise funds for uniforms and equipment.  Our program is
also implemented into other school programs and operations throughout the year.  
Explorers also serve the Albion Police in various administrative and operational
capacities and are permitted to Ride-along when requirements have been met.
