Welcome!

The Albion Police Department provides municipal police services within the Village of Albion 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week.  The Village rests within the Towns of Albion and Gaines, along the Erie Canal and is the Orleans County seat.
Twelve sworn personnel comprise the department – which has a command staff of a chief, a staff sergeant, and one
sergeant commanding each of three platoons.  One officer is assigned to the Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task
Force full-time.  The Village’s “on-call” animal control officer and school crossing guard are civilian members of the police
department.  The department has a police canine (K9) and sponsors a law enforcement exploring post.  We operate a fleet
of “black and white” police vehicles.  Characteristic of many smaller departments, several of our personnel take-on multiple
roles within the department.
